I am an old working soul, who is new to reinventing a ‘post-retirement’ career in the competitive arena of Real Estate Sales. I am blogging because I need to ‘talk through’ this decision to pursue this type of career with myself, out loud, and perhaps be a resource for other daredevils who may be considering this path.
Dollars & Cents issues: I have been licensed for 2 months. I have been a Keller Williams Realtor for 1 month and 2 weeks. I have not recouped my hard costs for pre-licensing training. I have not recouped the costs associated with ‘hanging my license with Keller Williams and becoming a member of the National Association of Realtors (i.e., local, state, and national chapters)
Personality Type issue: Having transplanted myself several times (i.e., owing to my principal career in construction management), I am now semi-securely yet somewhat uncomfortably settled in North-Central Florida. My discomfort is more of an internal or mental rub and I can cast no aspersions on the charms of the City of Gainesville or the North-Central Florida. By standard personality tests (i.e., Myers Briggs, DISC) I seem to be an Introvert-Examiner type, who is persistent at solving complex problems. This ‘type’ fact is accurate for me. And it is a ‘double-edged sword’ that cuts me every waking moment, as I navigate the decade on this earthly plane. https://gravatar.com/wendysimonson
